Errors do happen and when the copperplates for the town panoramas of #Wismar and #Rostock in #Civitates #Orbis #Terrarum. G. Bruin, F. Hogenbergius, etc. (Köln 1577-1588) were done, someone apparently mixed up the notes:
The mighty medieval churches of Rostock to the left got described as those of "Wismaria", whereas the great churches, walls and houses of Wismar to the right were labeled "Rostochium":
