Turns out a pol. left feminist friend, which I valued for her very solidarity w/ marginalised ppl, does exclude transfem* people from women. To her, they remain being men for alleged double privileges in life. I calmly disagreed to her but couldn't get into a debate.

My very first personal *terf*y experience after coming out and I just wasn't up for it, I felt completely overwhelmed. Luckily I had queer peers and compassionate allies to get to grips w/ it.

She's aware I don't identify as a woman, I'm a transfem* presenting enby. There's some trans*ness inside of me which I feel open & curious about to explore. You might imagine how on a personal level, her insolidarity with transfem*s, her reasoning, both devastated me personally and generally.

Something that is almost completely missing from gender/feminism discourse is an exploration of intersex-exclusionary feminism as an oppressive ideology, with acknowledgement of how central intersex oppression is to achieving "sex-based rights".

So in Germany it got very popular to have events that are for "women, lesbians, intersex, nonbinary, trans and agender" (acronym: FLINTA*). It's an extension of women's spaces that pretends to be more inclusive but in a very misguided way, making sure that cis women are the only arbiters of who's allowed and who's not. Let the queers in but under the gatekeeping of straight women. If you smell TERF, you're not wrong.
