Car crashes two friends: 79-year-old woman dies after being hit by a Panda, the other woman is in serious condition.
Just a few days after the tragedy in Milan, in which a woman died while crossing the street with her sister, another two women were killed by a car in Atri, in the province of Teramo. And in this case as well, a woman, Gabriella Pelusi, who was 79 years old, died. The other woman, 75 years old, was rescued and transferred to the emergency hospital in serious condition after suffering serious trauma. The police officers from the Pineto Highway Patrol detachment are handling the investigation, in the province of Teramo.
The accident occurred around 11:00 am near a supermarket. While in Milan a 39-year-old man had initially disappeared and then turned himself in, testing positive for alcohol and drugs, in this case the driver of the car involved, a Panda, was immediately subjected to alcohol and drug tests. The two friends in Atri were crossing the roadway on Aldo Moro Avenue.
The victim in Atri was urgently transferred by helicopter to Pescara, where she died: her condition appeared immediately desperate. The other woman at the Atri hospital and subsequently at the Teramo Mazzini Hospital, sustained serious injuries. The driver of the Panda was a 40-year-old man. The results of the tests are expected to verify the consumption of alcoholic and narcotic substances. The police officers from the Pineto Highway Patrol detachment are examining the footage captured by public and private surveillance cameras in the area.
