Laser al grafene nella banda proibita dei terahertz.
Fra le possibili applicazioni, la spettroscopia usata in astronomia. Realizzato a Pisa dal Cnr-Nano, è il primo laser compatto capace di superare i limiti dei semiconduttori e raggiungere fino a 10 terahertz – una frequenza finora inaccessibile – grazie a una griglia di grafene che agisce come “trampolino” per la luce.
