We are saddened in the wake of a horrible attack on a #synagogue in W.Bloomfield. We are sending love and care to #Jewish communities throughout #Michigan, including our own members who were raised in #TempleIsrael and have family who attend there.[...] Jewish communities, like all people, deserve to be safe in our houses of worship and schools.

The person who reportedly carried out this attack was a man whose siblings, niece, and nephew were just murdered in #Lebanon by #Israeli bombs. This is grief upon grief. War always begets trauma and further violence. It is clear that the Israeli government’s atrocities make all of us-including Jews-less safe. #Israel carries out brutal wars and #genocide against families and children, then falsely claims these war crimes are done in the name of #Jews. This leads to more #antisemitism.

Man in Michigan synagogue attack lost family members in Israeli airstrike in Lebanon, official says

A man with a rifle who crashed into a large Michigan synagogue in what federal officials say was an attack had lost four family members in an Israeli airstrike in his native Lebanon last week, an official said Friday.

Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, 41, a naturalized U.S. citizen born in Lebanon, was killed by security after ramming into Temple Israel in West Bloomfield Township near Detroit.

An Israeli airstrike killed 4 people in the eastern Lebanon town of Mashgharah on March 5, Lebanon’s state agency and the Lebanese Health Ministry reported.

A local official in Mashgharah told AP that Ghazali’s two brothers and a niece and nephew were killed at their home in the airstrike just after sunset as they were having their fast-breaking meal during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Sembra essere infatti una rappresaglia, una vendetta per le morti in Medio Oriente provocate dall’attacco congiunto all’Iran e ai suoi alleati da parte di Stati Uniti ed Israele, quanto accaduto giovedì 12 marzo al Temple of Israel, sinagoga alla periferia di Detroit, in Michigan.
È qui che Ayman Ghazaleh si è lanciato a bordo della su auto contro la sinagoga, per poi tentare di irrompere nel luogo di culto. L’uomo è però morto quando il personale di sicurezza del Temple of Israel lo ha visto ed ha reagito aprendo il fuoco contro di lui. Ghazaleh è l’unica vittima dell’attacco: il bilancio è di un solo ferito, un agente della sicurezza che ha riportato lievi lesioni quando l’auto si è schiantata contro la sinagoga.
La sinagoga di Temple Israel situtata a West Bloomfield comprende un centro per la prima infanzia che offre assistenza e istruzione a bambini a partire dalle prime settimane di vita. Nell’auto di Ghazaleh sarebbe stata trovata una grande quantità di esplosivi: dalla sinagoga dopo lo schianto si è alzata una grossa quantità di denso fumo nero.

Secondo quanto riferito dalla Cnn, Ghazaleh prima di lanciarsi con la sua auto contro il Temple of Israel ha pubblicato sui social media le foto della sua famiglia, tra cui dei bambini, scrivendo che erano stati uccisi in un recente attacco israeliano nella città di Mashghara, in Libano, che con l’Iran è l’altro fronte caldo dell’offensiva di Stati Uniti e Israele nella regione mediorientale.
L’attacco è stato commentato anche dal primo ministro israeliano, Benjamin Netanyahu: “L’antisemitismo non conosce limiti né confini. Israele viene attaccato perché è lo Stato ebraico. Il Temple of Israel a Detroit è stato attaccato oggi perché è un luogo di culto ebraico”, ha scritto su X il leader di estrema destra, in cui ha reso “omaggio al coraggioso personale di sicurezza della sinagoga per l’intervento tempestivo. Hanno salvato delle vite”.

Attack on a Detroit synagogue, shooter killed: his family killed in Israeli raids in Lebanon

The United States’ bombs in Iran reignite the terrorism alarm on US soil. It appears to be a retaliatory strike, a revenge for the deaths in the Middle East caused by the joint attack on Iran and its allies by the United States and Israel, as happened on Thursday, March 12th, at the Temple of Israel synagogue on the outskirts of Detroit, Michigan.

It was here that Ayman Ghazaleh drove his car into the synagogue, attempting to break into the place of worship. The man died when the Temple of Israel security personnel saw him and reacted by opening fire on him. Ghazaleh is the only victim of the attack; the toll is of one injured, a security agent who sustained minor injuries when the car crashed into the synagogue.

The Temple Israel synagogue, located in West Bloomfield, includes a nursery center that offers care and education to children from their earliest weeks of life. A large quantity of explosives was found in Ghazaleh’s car: after the crash, a large amount of dense black smoke rose from the synagogue.

According to CNN, before driving his car into the Temple of Israel, Ghazaleh had posted photos of his family, including children, on social media, writing that they had been killed in a recent Israeli attack in the town of Mashghara, Lebanon, which, along with Iran, is the other hotbed of the United States and Israel’s offensive in the Middle East.

The attack was also commented on by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: “Antisemitism knows no limits or boundaries. Israel is attacked because it is the Jewish state. The Temple of Israel in Detroit was attacked today because it is a Jewish place of worship,” wrote the far-right leader on X, paying “homage to the courageous security personnel of the synagogue for their timely intervention. They saved lives.”
