This afternoon marks the 5th attempt to call through to #TELUS to cancel my home services. This time I survived the voice prompt gauntlet & made it through to the phone queue for the 2nd time. This is the 2nd time I was disconnected while sitting in the phone queue for over 20 minutes. DO BETTER.

My hunch - TELUS will be looking for $10-$20B total valuation, looking to sell at least 49% - there are very few synergies with the rest of the TELUS business.

Given the write down in TELUS Digital, there's similar hot air in the TELUS Health business - the real value is around $1B as a standalone, maybe a little more in a merger play. The problem - there's no synergy between the TELUS Health products either, and the products aren't growing.

Quebec Man Takes On Rogers, Bell and Telus Over ‘Junk Fees’ at the CRTC | iPhone in Canada

A Québec man is taking on Canada’s telecom giants, calling on the CRTC to ban what he describes as a growing wave of “junk fees” and “dark patterns” that he says have taken over the wireless market in 2025. Émile Arsalane filed a formal Part 1 application on December 8, 2025, after seeing major carriers

Was phoned last night by #Telus with a "special mobile offer" because I'm already a customer (unwillingly... they took over our local ISP) and they couldn't even beat what I'm already paying at #Fizz ($29/month, best they could do was $32). Muppets.
I got a sweet repeating number from #Telus about 25 years ago; before the carriers realized they could charge more for them. I have kept that number through a lot of carriers over the years. Last week, I ported it to a #VOIP provider and wow...so many features that many carriers don't offer or charge for. I pay $5 a month for voice and sms. Yes, I still need mobile data on the road so I pay a 5G provider $40/m for that but still my bill went from $110 to $45. And did I mention the features? 😁
