Farvel, trådløse bredbånd fra Telenor! Montøren har nettopp kjørt sin veg etter å ha installert en annen tilbyder.

Telenor har fungert OK teknisk sett, men i forrige uke klarte de å ringe meg to dager PÅ RAD for å prøve å selge meg mobilabonnement. Altså..

- "Jeg har faktisk reservert meg i Brønnøysund."
- "Ja, men du er kunde hos oss, så vi har lov til å kontakte deg."

Vel, DET er det jo mulig å fikse.. Nå har de en unnskyldning mindre for å mangle respekt for min tid.

@strypey I am affected by it. #telenor #sweden is closing the 3g my phone cannot make phone calls. I called their support, they don't even have a public list of phones that are compatible they just tell you "buy a new phone at least post 2022, and even then avoid #Xiaomi, #nokia, #motorola, #pixel, #oneplus (and a tones of other brands the guy started to list me), prefer #iphone, #samsung"

The #Apple Edge Cache story at #Telenor has a happy ending!

Configuration was changed to point Swedish clients towards the Apple CDN directly rather than an Edge Cache in Norway. Download speed is finally back to normal without DNS hacks \o/

Update on the #Apple Edge Cache thing.

The slow servers are indeed Edge Caches located in Oslo:

> telenorno-noosl1a-fe-001.ec.edge.apple

No reply from Apple's NOC since December 28th.

#Telenor Sweden customer support is totally clueless about all of this.

Sidestepped that and managed to reach an actual network engineer in Telenor Norway. Got some useful info: Telenor only provides power and network, everything else is up to Apple. Plenty of free connectivity capacity to the cluster.

Standard #Apple support, as expected, couldn't even escalate to the Edge Cache team.

Messaged their peering NOC, let's see if it helps. They have a separate ticketing system, so slightly more hope there.

Will try contacting #Telenor tomorrow. My hopes are very low there, practically impossible to get to the technical folks.
