About the Job The Red Hat Application Developer Business Unit is looking for a Technical Marketing Manager to join us. In this role, you will drive technical content awareness for our diverse application development offering, focusing on Red Hat Developer Hub and developer tools such as Podman Desktop with AI Lab and contribute to raising awareness and preference for Red Hat as a platform for cloud native application development. Your delivery of technical enablement content and workshops will equip Red Hat sales with the knowledge to successfully architect solutions to meet customer needs. What You'll Do Drive our technical expertise and vision Create technical marketing collateral including technical workshops, videos, whitepapers, technical presentations and case studies Create and carry out solutions demos for external audiences Participate in technical aspects of go-to-market engagements like roadshows, workshops, solution patterns, webinars, solution demos and industry/partner events Support awareness by evangelizing technical capabilities Support engagements where required in high-touch accounts worldwide by collaborating with Field Sales and Services teams Collaborate with the Product Management team to understand and provide feedback on the definitions of features and solutions Work with alliance and ecosystem partners to develop joint technical content Collaborate with other teams to create technical marketing proof points What You'll Bring 5+ years of software industry experience, preferably in an area of application development including Java (or other programming languages), containers, Kubernetes and/or DevOps Bachelor's degree in engineering/computer science or equivalent experience; advanced degree is a plus Hands-on technical coding skills to create demos and workshops Record of success in a fast-moving, technical environment Solid written and verbal communication and presentation skills Ability to architect solutions to complex customer problems and explain customer requirements and use cases to engineering teams Ability to communicate the technical value proposition for our offerings and promote our solutions internally and externally Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities in a complex environment Willingness to travel The following is considered a plus: 3+ years of technical marketing experience, solutions engineering, or solutions architect experience Domain knowledge of and experience with open source projects Community involvement in open source projects like Backstage, Kubernetes The salary range for this position is $101,300.00 - $162,050.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications. Pay Transparency Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. Web admin / dev folk, if you run an experiment that redirects users based on the contents of a cookie and your client send you a message like "urgent! discontinue this experiment! redirects are breaking things", that doesn't mean "stop dropping that cookie", it means "stop redirecting users".

Cookies have a lifetime.

There are otherwise clever people using Google Tag Manager who have no concept that HTTP is stateless and it means they have this huge obstacle in their learning because they eventually try to figure out “how do I do a thing on page 2 that depends on a thing that happened on page 1?”

When your website deletes URL parameters and drops referrer URL when users land on your site only to be immediately redirected, don’t come crying to me about lost attribution in Google Ads and a spike in direct traffic together with a corresponding loss of traffic from other channels.

I told you to fix this in 2022. If your dev agency can’t figure it out, that’s on them.
