Its so much more work to getting These #tdeck s fitted in the metal airsoft magazines than anticipated.
I used like 20 dremel cutting disks just to open the sides
Wanted to update the firmware from Linux.
I managed using chromium and https://flasher.meshtastic.org/, but not until I restarted while holding down the scroll button, and running sudo setfacl -m u:avuko:rw /dev/ttyACM0.
Took me a blessed search to figure out this incantation, so this is my documentation.
#Tdeck arrived last week.
Pretty cool device, though honestly, the #BruceFirmware has been far more interesting than Meshtastic so far.
Meshcore became even more better now there is MeshOS for T-Deck.
Absolutely stunning work on the firmware. The T-deck is now completely different device!
Check Andy's video about it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJV4TMX2_T0
(also bought the extra features at 8 pounds without blinking eyes)

I just ordered two new LilyGo T-Deck models. they'll arrive next month. My next goal with regards to the hardware is to get #Reticulum on #HardenedBSD communicating over #Meshtastic.
For the next years Post apo larp season i want a communicator.
So i got a set of tdecks and airsoft magazines to build housings from.
Now i dont know if i can modify the style of the meshtastic ui?
Does somebody know if thats possible?
I'd like to redesign it a bit pip boy esque.

Like I mentioned, I don't know a lot about #MeshNetworks, but I'd love to know what others think of the #MeshTastic systems. This seems to be a pretty up-to-date guide on how to set up a Mesh network (there wasn't a date on the piece, but they referenced QR codes). Personally, I'd rather go the #HamRadio route, but there's a few hoops to jump through for that (like the Ham radio test and licensing).
How to Set Up Meshtastic: A Beginner-Friendly Guide You Need
"Meshtastic enables encrypted communications over distances of 11 kilometers with uninterrupted line of sight. Setting up this powerful technology is surprisingly simple.
"A LILYGO® TTGO Meshtastic T-Beam board costs just $30 and ships with pre-installed software. The devices are equipped with AES256 encryption to ensure secure communications between authorized radios. A single 18650 battery powers these units for days without charging, and solar cells can keep them running indefinitely.
"This piece covers the complete setup process for #TBeam, #HeltecV3, and #TDeck hardware. You’ll learn everything about antenna installation, firmware updates, and message configuration to optimize your device’s performance in #OffGrid conditions."
