Here is the video of my talk about how tax resistance campaigns can improve their chances for success by choosing tactics well. I gave the talk at the launch of Extinction Rebellion’s “Money Rebellion” campaign, to about 200 engaged viewers, with a Q&A afterwards.

I updated it with some examples from campaigns that erupted since its original publication.
I also changed the title to the snappier “Tax Strike Tactics”.
We can no longer reliably extrapolate from long-standing precedent about how the government operates, or how it responds to tax resisters, to anticipate the near future.
While past tax policy changes have been slow, gradual, and predictable, near-future changes are likely to be abrupt, arbitrary, and unstable.
This presents American tax resisters with new challenges but also new opportunities.
