New #review today: "With Burning Wick, #SatokoFujii’s Quartet roars once again, following the excellent Dog Days of Summer with another set of unpredictable #jazz. As with the previous release, Fujii (piano) is joined by #NatsukiTamura (trumpet), #TatsuyaYoshida (drums), and #HayakawaTakeharu (bass), and as I’ve written before, this combination of musicians is particularly explosive and appealing." #ExposeOnline #AvantJazz http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/satoko-fujii-quartet-burning-wick-2.html
New #review today: "The music of #Koenjihyakkei tends to attract such adjectives as intense, frenetic, and over-the-top. When it comes to #zeuhl-inspired music, this band’s motto has always been “too much is never enough” combined with “anything worth doing is worth over-doing.” Every track is a blast of energy with very little respite for overwhelmed listeners." #ExposeOnline #SkinGraftRecords #ProgressiveRock #AvantProgressive #TatsuyaYoshida http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/koenjihyakkei-live-at-club-goodman-2.html

Dissecting Table - Ultimate Psychological Description II

Very intense, fast-paced industrial with hard-hitting metal percussion and extreme metal vocals. At times, I feel this could have worked perfectly in a cool 80s action/horror movie, like Lamberto Bava's Dèmoni.

Oh, and it features Tatsuya Yoshida on a couple of nice live tracks.

I saw a great collaboration between Ruins (Tatsuya Yoshida) and the band Zu live last year, but didn't realise they ever released any music.

Today I came across this live album. 😊

New #review today: "Of the many ensembles led by pianist #SatokoFujii, the quartet that recorded Dog Days of Summer might be my favorite. There are a number of factors that lead to my fondness of the album. In no particular order, they include: 1. #TatsuyaYoshida on drums, a constantly energetic and engaging rhythmic powerhouse whose distinctive playing brings a refreshing solidity to Fujii’s music..." #ExposeOnline #Jazz #AvantJazz http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/satoko-fujii-quartet-dog-days-of-summer-2.html

RUINS
Very cool concert with one of the most technically advanced Drummers in the Japanese underground, Tatsuya Yoshida, doing a solo set (Ruins Alone?), Risa Takeda, doing a glitch/noise set, and of course a "classical & Progressive Hardcore Jazz Improvisation Duo" set. Interesting enough, she's quite the advanced drummer as well, as they switched instruments at one point. His keyboard skills were harder to judge. More importantly, it was fun! #music #improvisation #RisaTakeda #TatsuyaYoshida #Oslo
