@tobi82 Bei mir ist de Kompatibilitätsliste von #Tasmota die Einkaufsliste für Home-Automation.

Abgesehen von zwei Lichtschaltern, die remote steuerbar sind, und der Smartgrid-Steuerung der Wärmepumpe/PV habe ich für die Home-Automation bisher keinen relevanten Usecase für mich gefunden.

The pool temp sensor is a DSB18B20 on a SonOff TH. Been working fine for years. However every time there are electric problems (blackout, usually with brownout) the sensor stops working and no reboot fixes it. It only comes back after unplugging physically the sonoff.

So when I wake up to no temperature I know I should walk to the other side of the house in the dark machine room and just turn off the whole breaker off and on and it will just come back 🤷🏻‍♂️

Zähler für Verbrauch und Einspeisung via optischer Schnittstelle. Daten im Sekundentakt. 31 Euro. #Tasmota Software ist sehr einfach zu nutzen und in #homeassistant einzubinden. Verbindung via WLAN oder direkt an einen Raspberry Pi via USB-C.

Heute habe ich einen Gaszähler in Home Assistant eingebunden.

Das ist ein Tasmota-Gerät, meine Fresse, war das kompliziert.

Erst mit dem Handy nach dem WLAN des Zählers suchen, dann per Handy mein lokales WLAN verbinden.

Dann die IP suchen, einen Port anhängen, der nirgendwo steht.

Ein Skript auf einer Webseite generieren, das man auf der Webseite des Zählers hochladen muss.

Dann eine spezielle MQTT-Integration von der Webseite des Herstellers herunterladen (zum Glück als OneKlick).

Dann einen User für das Gerät einrichten und den User in der MQTT-Integration erfassen.

War bestimmt noch mehr, was ich mittlerweile vergessen habe.

Wer denkt sich bitte so was aus 😵‍💫

Successfully remotely upgraded the esp8266 lighting controllers in the camper from #Tasmota to #ESPHome. Managed to brick the two #WLED controllers so they'll need a physical connection to sort out. The single esp32 based relay board also needs a physical connection - Tasmota on that won't let me 'upgrade' to esphome firmware.
After they're all done, I've got to work out what I did with the #zigbee controller that means it's not on the network. Then I've got to program the switches...

@robertklep Although HA Discovery[1] supports a lot of values, you are spot on about the retained message issue.
I've had to reboot kit to re-publish topics after deleting the wrong retained.

My custom-device dev needed a load of `mosquitto_pub` scripts to create and remove. At least the changes in #homeassistant are instant.

I can see why #Tasmota switched to their own all-in-one #MQTT JSON payload format [2].
