Highfield House,

Highfield House is often considered the "birthplace" of European settlement in the North West of Tasmania.

The history of the house is tied to the VDL Company, which was formed by London businessmen in 1826 to establish a massive fine wool growing venture on a 350,000-acre land grant from King George IV.
