#politas #TasPol is getting even more interesting, with the major parties opening the lolly cabinet. Libs have taken some forests back out of production (not that industry wanted them anyway) and will stop funding greyhound racing. And now Labor will make independent MLC Ruth Forrest treasurer! The Tasmanian government has announced that from 2029 (when the current funding deal expires) funding will cease for greyhound racing in the state. This isn't an explicit ban, but given the loss making nature of the industry, it's likely it won't survive without being propped up by the government.

This is great news, and the remaining states should follow suit so we can end this barbaric, cruel practice in Australia once and for all.

Dear Mr. Winter

I am utterly dismayed to see that you would rather call another no confidence motion than step down and allow another Labor MP to work with the Greens and other independents.

You can't possibly want the best for Tasmania, since your head is so burried where the sun doesn't shine that you can't see that all left leaning Tasmanians would support this. If you don't recognise it, you'll find the ALP governing from opposition forever.

Dean Winter has confirmed that a motion of no confidence in Rockliff and confidence in Winter will be moved on the first day of Parliament, either by Labor or an independent.
