At the point where the northern side of the Great Glen Fault disappears below the waves of the North Sea. Probably inactive, but there is sufficient uncertainty so that the Kessock Bridge was built with seismic buffers! The land to the north is moving west and the land to the south is moving east where 2 tectonic plates slide past each other. The last major movement, identified in physical evidence on the land, suggests a 64 mile slip between 70 to 50 million years ago. #tarbatnesslighthouse
