Trump Goes on Wild Rant as Irish PM Struggles Not to Laugh

President Donald Trump reignited one of his favorite grievances, and the Irish prime minister could barely stifle his laughter at the absurdity.

Iran confirms security chief Larijani killed as Trump lashes out at Nato allies

Israel had earlier said it hit the hideout of Iran’s security council in an overnight strike, killing Ali Larijani, the latest senior Iranian official to have been killed within weeks.

"A representative of #Ireland’s #Jewish community contacted #Taoiseach #MicheálMartin three months ago to raise “deep and increasing concern about the rise in #antiSemitism in Ireland” and to seek a Government plan to tackle it.

Records released under the Freedom of Information Act show #MauriceCohen, the chairman of the Jewish Representative Council of Ireland (#JRCI), wrote to Mr Martin last October.

Mr Cohen wrote that the State remained one of the few #EU member states without a national plan to combat anti-Semitism. He urged the Government to “set a defined timeline and departmental responsibility for drafting and adoption of Ireland’s national plan”.

He said in December that, as yet, the Government “has given no commitment on the timeline as requested in the October letter."

I am shocked by this lack of action.

Congrats to #AislingDempsey TD for this question in Dáil Éireann about vital air traffic control measures in late December, and to An #Taoiseach for his assurance that all necessary clearances have been granted for all the relevant personnel.

Will Fianna Fáil sue Jim Gavin?

#Taoiseach Micheál Martin tells #RTE: #JimGavin told #FiannaFail on 8th September that "he never had a journalist as a tenant". That was false.

If Jim had told the truth, the matter would have been investigated. Jim Gavin would not have been selected the next day.

The precise words used are critical. But if Jim's false assertion was given without caveat, that was #fraud which cost #FF ~€400K.

But the proposed renaming of #HerzogPark has been badly mishandled.

#DublinCityCouncil #DCC officials misread the law, which has not yet been fully implemented. Some politicians wanted a Palestinian name for the park. #Taoiseach and #Tanaiste conceded to Israeli bullying.

Ireland’s Jewish community must not be erased. Rathgar has a long Jewish history, and the park's new name should reflect that Jewish heritage.
