Recommendation needed.

I find myself interested in the Tantra. It's history, practices, pitfalls...

And with the noise created by neo-tantra and sex-centric stuff (no judgment here, it's fine, just not what I'm looking for), I find it hard to figure out where to start.

Any recommendations? (books, articles, historical sources...)

It is the reconciliation of apparent opposites, the realization that there is love in death and destruction in sexuality.

The consciousness that goes through it all has a core that remains unchanged. Getting to this core, fusing with it and transforming it into our waking self is the true goal of tantra.

1. This is Gari Chale Na by Dohar; a #band that specialises in the traditions of #Bangladesh 🇧🇩 and West Bengal, #India 🇮🇳. The lyrics were written by Shah Abdul Karim (1916-2009); a Baul #singer and #player of the #ektara, and a prolific #composer. He wrote over 1600 songs! The Baul are #Bengali itinerant singers of religious songs, primarily #Sufism, #Vaishnavism and #Tantrism, but often combine elements of these.
