Before signing up to Tana, I looked at the policy and ways to sign up. I’m not one to read the small print. However, I want to have a look.

I got an invite to try out Tana. On opening the link, I was directed to signing up with a Google or Apple account. No other option was available. Then I decided to read their terms (without signing up) and was in shock. I have to admit. I’m not the greatest at interpreting legal speak and technical jargon, but their policy does not give me confidence. Tana’s terms. Here’s what I am getting from the policy:. They can use your data for AI modelling. by entering, uploading or making any User Content available through the Service, a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free right to host, cache, store, reproduce, transmit and modify your User Content. This includes transfer to AI models for processing, augmentation and user constrained training. They can delete your data without notice. They hold little to no responsibility for loss of data. TANA ACCEPTS NO RESPONSIBILITY OR LIABILITY FOR ANY USER CONTENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMISSIBLE BY APPLICABLE LAW. YOU ARE SOLELY LIABLE FOR YOUR USER CONTENT AND WILL INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS TANA FOR ANY COSTS, EXPENSES OR DAMAGES RELATING TO YOUR USER CONTENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 16 BELOW. You must have internet access to access your data and ‘we do not guarantee that the Service will always be accessible as it is delivered throughout the internet.’. Am I missing something here?
