Getting to my first “in March” #MARCHintosh progress report.

Mentioning some updates from this month - anything in addition to:
- #TalkCrawler
- GlobalTalk Updater
- jRouter
- @mac84tv’s setup guide
- @1Bit’s Win11 guide

I’m missing on the updates front (other than my own stuff, of course)?

Yes, I have definitely mentioned MARCHintosh Daily News from @dillera!

Not talking yet about greets, printouts, and other projects people have been working on, just primarily updated “products”/guides.

If there’s one thing I hate about trying to drop some #GlobalTalk/#MARCHintosh greets it's opening the 9.2.2 emulated system running #TalkCrawler so I can keep tabs on what I drop where and it’s in the middle of a scan.

I hate interrupting it, so I think, I’ll come back later. Next time I remember, I come back…and it’s in the middle of a scan.

Hey @kalleboo, would an adjustable frequency be possible?

I mean, I could just interrupt every second scan to get 2-hourly scans, but that feels rude!

More #MARCHintosh success with getting my eMate onto #GlobalTalk via EtherTalk. It required a Farallon Etherwave PCMCIA card. Specifically the one with the blue arrow not the red arrow. Both have the same part number. The nice thing about this card it actually asks you if you want to enable AppleTalk when inserted. Still no luck getting it to be visible on #talkcrawler
@kalleboo is #TalkCrawler supposed to beep three times each time it starts (or finishes) scanning a zone?

@kalleboo

#TalkCrawler seems to freeze QEMU or the OS each time it gets to MrTechGadget zone. It’s been stuck here for almost an hour, but only took 5-10 minutes to get there. I can’t click anywhere, it’s the beachball, but it doesn’t rotate.

On the QEMU machine which can’t see that zone, it completes the scan then seems to freeze (waiting for next scan to start in a few minutes).

This is with TC1.2.

Is there any reason #TalkCrawler might not be triggering on the hourly scans, @kalleboo?

Is there something I can do/check/report on which would help sort it out?

#GlobalTalk #MARCHintosh What’s the best Classic Mac OS benchmarking software for machines that covers the greatest range of OSes and hopefully both m68k and PPC?

I’m curious to see how my various emulated machines stack up against their physical counterparts, and maybe there can be a High Score table (honour system-based) in @kalleboo’s #TalkCrawler 🤣

I’m about to go scouring Macintosh Garden, but thought I’d mention it to see if people had opinions :)
