29-03-2021 MEET THE REBELS Hey everyone, my name is Marie. I currently live in Cologne in Germany. I have done some Actions with Animal Rebellion in different countries in the last year. I first got in touch with Animal Rebellion Netherlands when a friend told me about last year's Rebellion in September and I spontaneously joined. I didn't know any of the people but I felt welcomed and loved right away! Why did I join Animal Rebellion? I grew up on the countyside with farms all around me. As just a kid, I saw gestation crates, dead babies in dumpsters and stolen calves without their mothers, with my own eyes. When I was 15, I realized what impacts my behavior and daily choices had on the animals and the environment. My view on the world and on life changed. So I started to change. A year and a half ago, I realized that just eating plant-based wasn't enough. I decided to get active, for the animals, the planet and our future. I started by joining Outreach actions on the streets of Cologne and then got into more disruptive stuff and civil disobedience. We need a massive system change if we want to have a future for us and our children. It is our responsibility right now to prevent the worst. I can no longer sit in silence while millions of animals get born into captivity and killed every day. The least we can do is speak up for them and also speak up for our lovely planet and all future generations. Doing activism with friends/other rebels gives me a lot of strength to keep going. Psychosis affects 3 out of every 100 people in their lifetime and often starts between ages 16-35. It can cause individuals to lose touch with reality—hearing voices, seeing things, or holding strong false beliefs. Early signs are subtle and easy to miss but recognizing them can change lives.

𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿:

- Hearing or seeing things others don’t
- Strong false beliefs (paranoia)
- Confused or disorganized speech
- Withdrawal from friends and family
- Changes in behavior or emotions
- Neglecting self-care
- Trouble at school or work

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀:
The longer psychosis goes untreated, the harder recovery can be. Early treatment leads to better outcomes, faster recovery, and a more normal life.
