10/10 for #twDrama #BreezeByTheSea - afantastic example of a remake done right. Not groundbreaking but heartfelt, with senuine emotion, smart dialogue, a focus on healing and moving forward in life.
I loved that there were several instances where tropes were played with. As when the ML kissed the Fl for the first time (with her clear IMplicit consent) and she said "aren't you supposed to ask before kissing?". Another example was PPL being openly flagged as PPL. Some multivitamin product was described by at least 3 different characters in EXACTLY the same words verbatim, as if they were reading an ad. It made me smile.

#twDrama #BreezeByTheSea is the first TW remake of a #kDrama I've seen. The first #kDrama remake of a #twDrama I'd already seen was #FatedToLoveYou and I love the #kDrama remake SO MUCH MORE than the TW original. Into ep 5/18 and this one is shaping up to be the other way round.

I dropped #TopStarYooBaek, picked it up more than a year later and found it better than I expected. But this remake is AWESOME - quieter, less frenzied and with much more low-key emotion. The total runtime is only ~50 minutes shorter, but the pacing feels sharper and more lively. Plus, the fact that the 2 leads have been leads together before clearly helps with their onscreen chemistry.
The other BIG difference is geography: one BIG difference - the #kDrama set on a remote Island, the #twDrama shot on Kinmen, an island in sight of the country that almost certainly will one day invade it, as the screenshot shows

7.6/10 for #twDrama #SmallAndMighty - it got more right than wrong and the leads were good together. A more nuanced look at the interplay between law and justice than I expected. Time to watch a short #cDrama before watching Chen Bo Lin and Kuo Hsieh Fu together again in a more straightforward romcom

I started a new #twDrama tonight because of its two leads Chen Bo Lin and (Puff) Kuo Hsueh Fu. I'm now into episode 3 and really enjoying it. They are working so well together that I've added another #twDrama to my PTW list, one I only found out about after starting this.

The #kDrama #TopStarYooBaek is one of very, VERY few that I have dropped then picked up again and quite enjoyed. I had absolutely no idea that there was a Taiwanese remake made in 2024 starring these two together again. If it's as good as #SmallAndMighty is so far, it should be a fun watch. Also Chen Bo Lin is as gorgeous as ever😍

The FRABJOUS discovery that my instance now allows 1000 characters means I have only one thing to say to any #cDrama #kDrama #jDrama or #twDrama fan who follows me

@ganbatte I've never watched any #ItazuraNaKiss - I think I was spoiled by the amazing chemistry that Ariel and Joe brought to the #twDrama versions. I did NOT like the #kDrama version, and overall my favourite riff on the idea is still the #cDrama #ALoveSoBeautiful
Yep, it's official - #twDrama #FabulousBoys has the best remake opening EVAH. Hard to get a more glowing endorsement than this 😁
#kDrama #YoureBeautiful

@ronsboy67 Thanks! I'm adding this one too, Jasper Liu is in I'm Married But. I'll likely watch both back-to-back. #twDrama #ImMarriedBut
