One thing that I've found extremely helpful--but also quite time-consuming--while working on TTRPGs is to list out all of the spells, abilities, traits, skills, etc. into a chart or bulleted list. Often by doing this, I can easily see that there are spells with very similar names that could confuse players (e.g. Dinner's Served, Supper's On, neither of which are real spells). It also lets me see how the author capitalizes and formats similar items.
Has anyone in the #TTRPG world heard of "rattlesnake" in relation to character or enemy abilities? In a game I'm editing, the author mentions that a sniper character has a rattlesnake ability, and unless the sniper has a noisemaker they use before combat, I'm at a loss.
At our D&D session this weekend, our DM went above and beyond when he created an actual one-page newspaper for the town our characters were visiting. He also charged my character 5 silver pieces for it despite the price clearly being listed as only 1 sp!
This was a super creative way for our characters to learn what was going on in town without the DM having to do a monologue.
