What needs to happen now in Tennessee is a relentless voter turnout campaign in Nashville and Memphis, to flip those gerrymander-cracked districts. That's the danger of having no gerrymander-packed districts. There's less safety margin remaining. If the (D) bust their asses (they won't--it'll need to be grassroots organizing, as usual), and the (R) get lazy because they think they locked up a 9-0 state, the (D) could actually pick up seats.

#Republicans, cheered on by #Trump, have rejected those claims. Instead, they have said, they are responding to the #SCOTUS ruling, which raised the bar for what constitutes a #racial #gerrymander under the #VotingRights Act of 1965.

This is what happens when people overcome the constant propaganda of "a vote for a third party is a wasted vote" and "we need to vote for the second worst option because it's better than the worst", and instead come together to vote for a candidate they actually want 🗳️

Hope other states and democracies around the world, especially those stuck in the rut of a two-party system, can learn from this 💡

(I don't know how good TVK's governance will turn out to be and how good a job they can do, but the point is that they, a new party with no prior electoral history, are being given a chance over more established rivals. This itself is, I think, a positively development for democracy)
