If #Smith and #Carney think they can force another pipeline through through BC despite fervent opposition from the majority of #bcpoli, they are sniffing too much crude.

This project will be ferociously resisted on the ground, with countless arrests and heated clashes between protesters and police.

Just like #TMX, those openly against this project will be harassed and threatened by #UCP separatists, proud boys, american bots and Oil and Gas barons. All of whom feel BC deserves nothing in return for this destructive project.

Despite all the gaslighting, many of us in #BC knew this unneeded pipeline would be forced upon our Province against our will yet again by ANOTHER Liberal Government, despite Carney gleefully stealing our votes to prop up his make believe “majority government”.

I voted against #PierrePoilievre because he was threatening to do exactly what Mark Carney is doing now. Our #elbowsup votes were used against us, not Trump, as Carney grifted.

This overkill pipeline will be the most costly pipeline ever built in Canada. It’s environmental costs will be socialized in BC and it’s measly gains privitized in separatist #Alberta.

It will be shoved without environmental assessment through forest fire prone areas and pristine ecosystems, destroying our species at risk.

Whoever builds it will need to pay for round the clock security everyday to defend it, just as they needed with #TMX. The price, both environmental and financial will be through the roof.

Eventually Canadians (who said this would never happen) will foot the bill for this open pollution of our once beautiful Westcoast; removing our tanker protections, destroying our species at risk, endangering community livelihoods and coastal industries through decades of future pollution in the Strait.

Shame on Carney (you are no unifier), and shame on this Liberal Government. You stand for nothing but austerity, big money and big oil and true Canadians see it.

It's already over $35 B of direct, sunk cost, or over $40 B if we're counting indirect sunk subsidies:

The direct funding Canada provided for TMX totals $35.6 billion—roughly
$1.4 billion more than typically reported. The indirect financial subsidies raise government exposure to over $40 billion.

Note that $40 B figure does NOT include externalities!!! It does NOT price in greenhouse gasses, the risk of pipeline damage from landslides or atmospheric river flooding, there is no risk-costed contribution from possible tanker accidents, etc.

and even if TMX operates at capacity for 20 years under some miraculously free carbon capture technology,
