Improvised attacks are when a character attacks with a weapon in a way it was not made for. For example, swatting a monster with a bow, or throwing a club.

Improvised attack rolls do not gain proficiency bonus and always do 1d4 + the attack type's modifier in damage.

In general, attack flying 🪽 enemies with a ranged 🏹 attack, swimming 🌊 enemies with specialized aquatic weapons, and any other enemy with a melee 🗡️ attack.

Otherwise, your attacks will won't be as effective.

If the character is in a tough encounter, they may try to run.

Running performs the greater of an Acrobatics (Dex) or Athletics (Str) check and accounts for differences in speed. The character may flee, flee but take damage, attempt to flee but be forced to fight, or not flee at all.
