Last day of the TIG welding course: welding a "snake", and see what fiddling with the amperage does to your welds (basically ruining it 😂).

Managed to create some reasonably clean welds too, but these were more luck than skill, especially on 1mm stainless.
Also welded some aluminum (AC TIG), but that's a whole different ballgame.

I’m a welder and just started my A level schooling which is sort of the top level of education in welding where I’m from. This is one of my first welds in the course. Its not beautiful, but we’re getting there 🧑‍🏭

I made this a long while back when I was learning #tigwelding for #sheetmetal. Day late, but there it is y'all! I cannot wait to have a shop and a high frequency welder of my own some day. This was hand cut and formed with no rollers. I would love to revisit it for the simplicity and make a template. The hardest part was finishing, Pre planning was a must for the "hard to reach with a polishing wheel" areas. To me it symbolizes our power to shine, or not shine, but still be beautiful.

#Stainless 1.2mm plate.
Firstable I add a bit of metal on the edge. I use 150Hz pulse frequency, 20A background current, 35A peak current.
Then I change to 49A peak current to fill in that hole.
I'd like to improve the result.

@TicklishHoneyBee Is that stick welding? I bought an inverter and so far have only used it for stick welding but I also got the TIG kit and a bottle of Argon for a project. I designed a forge and had it plasma cut so I have a steel jigsaw puzzle to weld up #welding #metalwork #TIGwelding
