Tidal playlists

https://tidal.com/@labus?u Er du #Tidal -bruger? Jeg har lavet en del offentlige #spillelister. Her er et par stykker. *** Are you a Tidal user? I have made...

@ChrisMayLA6 Nice! And the follow up tracks suggested by #Tidal - the streaming service I'm trialing at the moment - are more of the same 🙂 #music

So I have changed from #Spotify to #Tidal. Differences I have noticed in the last week:

- Spotify remembers where I am in the song when I open the app later. Tidal restarts the song.
- If I'm casting Spotify to HEOS, but then connect my phone to Bluetooth, Spotify yanks the music back (I have a strong dislike for this). Tidal does not.
- Tidal has higher quality music (I mostly know this because they tell me), including Atmos. Spotify does not.
- Spotify keeps pestering me with podcasts that I have no interest in. Tidal does not.
- For the first time ever I heard an ad on my paid music service. This is because Miley Cyrus (which was recommended by Tidal) had made a jingle about... Maybeline or something?
- My phone battery seems have started leaking. Not sure if Tidal, need to investigate.
- At least once I have needed to forcibly close Tidal on Android because it could not play a song. I did not see this with Spotify, leading me to believe Spotify might be slightly more mature.

New #NeoVim plugin: Tidal-NVIM. Code @tidalcycles in neovim, integrated with #SuperCollider. It's still early days but works well, and it's written in lua so it's easy to hack away at and expand in the future :)

Switching from #Spotify to #TIDAL was super easy, automagically ported all my playlists (8000+ songs), only lost a handful of missing tracks, all before I even added a payment plan.

Not an audiophile by any means, just wanted to get off Spotify.

Spotify runs ads for ICE and pays artists a tiny fraction of their revenue, not to mention their abysmal UI and perpetual addition of "features" that nobody wanted.

I'm sure I'll find things to hate about Tidal but so far I'm quite happy.

I finally got the November playlist out! It's on 8 platforms so everyone can listen: Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, Deezer, Qobuz, Amazon Music, YouTube & Last[dot]fm.

Music on TIDAL

Every time I go to the #Tidal website, I find myself typing eMusic instead. I guess at some level the Tidal logo reminds me of the old eMusic logo.

I really miss what eMusic was in its heyday. I found so many bands I really love by taking a risk on an album for download.

Today's pattern experiments in @tidalcycles. Silly-ravey sounds getting mangled.
