Yesterday I did some good work on the first panel with the new character in (and in fact this morning I split that picture into three units, adding a ‘texture’ of the outside of the aircraft as one of the three, so that it can ‘break out of’ the panel in Affinity Publisher.
Today I’ve drawn the pencilling of the big final panel, which is the aircraft landing (well in the sky, you don’t see the ground, originally I had a smaller similar one going by in the opposite direction behind, but I chopped that idea out because it would complicate something that’s supposed to have big impact).
It’s big, so I drew it big - on an A2 cartridge pad, bigger than I normally work with. It can’t fit on the scanner of course so I photographed it. Here’s a bit of a hint of it, the photo now on my Photos, on my iPad Mini 6, rephotographed on my iPhone, but not focusing on the iPad but shooting straight past onto my folded folding bike over there. It’s just a teaser. I’ve yet to ink it yet.

Today marks a kind of boundary in my comic, the page I did last week is half a page, the top half of three panels, the word balloons of the last panel in that row overflowing into the bottom row, none of which is drawn yet. Today I draw that bottom row, it introduces another character, it also establishes some more anachonity so I’ve got to get drawing once I get back from my cycle ride once I finish this second coffee. #teaser
