I have been trying to complete @SuperWendy's #TBRChallenge since 2012 (though not every year) with rather pitiful results. If you want to see how I did, I ended up writing a compilation post

For the record: the TBR Challenges 2012 through 2022

I mentioned a few days ago that I should put together a list of all the TBR Challenge reviews I’ve posted over the years, with the month and themes they were for, just for the sake of tidines…

Her Hands, My Hands

11.- I read Frederick Smith's _One and Done_, a standalone contemporary romance. I wish I had liked it more.

One and Done, by Frederick Smith

March’s TBR Challenge theme was ‘tropestastic!’, and in genre romance, there’s a long and storied tradition for the one night stand. (Never mind that that’s not quite …

Her Hands, My Hands

My #TBRChallenge read was Dauntless, a gay romance with some mystery set on a very isolated Australian island. Bonus Simpsons overtones. 😂

TBR Challenge: Dauntless by Lisa Henry and J.A. Rock

The theme: Fool’s Errand How this Fits: Ph.D candidate Eddie comes to a tiny, tight-knit island community with information that would completely upend their local legends. This is fine! I kep…

A Willful Woman...
It's #TBRChallenge Day and this month's theme is Fool's Errand. Y'all, I read a Thea Devine book. More seedy sex scenes than I could count, a magical thinking heroine and total soapy trash. In other words, I ain't mad https://wendythesuperlibrarian.blogspot.com/2026/04/tbrchallenge-2026-sex-lies-secret-lives.html #RomBkBlog
#TBRChallenge 2026: Sex, Lies & Secret Lives

A public librarian-written blog about romance novels, baseball, and other random natterings.

Because I was feeling a certain way, I checked last year's attempt to complete @SuperWendy's #TBRChallenge. It turns out, while I certainly didn't do great, I did better than I thought I had. Crossing fingers for a better showing this year.

TBR Challenge 2025: not completed

I just realized–well into 2026–that I never posted my sad TBR Challenge performance for 2025; I barely managed to write reviews for half the themes in the challenge, and mostly well aft…

Her Hands, My Hands

For reasons, I re-read this review just now, and I'm AGAIN so very angry that the author was not offered a contract for the next book. Well written protagonist of a certain age, interesting mystery, good worldbuilding.

Publishing did Callie Carpenter very dirty here.

Death by Demo, by Callie Carpenter

This is one of those times where the title catches your eye, then the blurb sells you hard on the premise: the protagonist is a woman in her early thirties who does home renovation! (Please note th…

Her Hands, My Hands

9.- I read Dana Stabenow's _A Cold Day for Murder_, the first in her Kate Shugak series of contemporary murder mysteries.

For the #TBRChallenge I read a dated but entertaining Harlequin Intrigue from the 90s. I do love me some amnesia romance.

TBR Challenge: The Other Laura by Sheryl Lynn

CW: gaslighting, ableism about mental health, misogyny, copaganda The theme: TROPETASTIC! How this fits: Amnesia, baby! Which is no doubt why it was on my TBR. Also irredeemably evil wife/mom, whic…

A Willful Woman...

Hey, #Romancelandia, happy #TBRChallenge day!

I read T.E. Kinsey's _A Fire at the Exhibition_, the 10th novel in the Lady Hardcastle series of historical cozy mysteries set in the early 1910s:

Thank you,

Because I’m nothing if not stubborn, I’m determined to complete SuperWendy’s TBR Challenge this year–even if I have to bend the rules (read: cheat) more than a little in ord…
