Practical Symbolic Power

My mate @GeeTee and some other cool #SystemCrafters cats have built an internet radio station, Asteroid Radio: music for hackers, built by hackers.

Asteroid Radio is a community-driven internet radio station born from the SystemCrafters community. We celebrate the intersection of music, technology, and hacker culture—broadcasting for those who appreciate both great code and great music.

It's quite good and they're actively developing it, give it a listen and get involved.

@daviwil #systemcrafters #sigil I’m really excited to see what sigil could actually be. I really envision a flutter like UI kit using #scheme and able to compile to wasm. Is there any interest with #prescheme , possibly have sigil compile down to C?
Just ordered the #guile #scheme course from https://systemcrafters.net/courses/hands-on-guile-scheme-beginners/ can’t wait to start this after work. #systemcrafters

Update .. Finally got smart enough to install #niri on #guix using home-service and I love it. JUST RTFM lol , slow down and read. #guile #guix #niri. Also plan to buy the guile course from #systemcrafters

My opinion is that it's way better to start learning from sane defaults. Also, a wizard can easily show you what you can change and how.

I've used #Emacs for years through #Spacemacs framework and I still like it. Slowly I learn more and more about Elisp and other things when using it. I don't think it would be a bad thing if someone offered a wizard that creates a similar experience as one gets when following the guidance of #SystemCrafters

I knew I wasn't taking advantage of the power of multi-path undo possibilities in Emacs but it never clicked with me, until I found vundo thanks to @sacha's recent post.

This package visualizes the undo history as nodes that you can traverse and diff in a very familiar git branch paradigm. Quick post: https://shom.dev/posts/20250622_undo-finally-clicked-with-vundo/

🔴 Today on #SystemCrafters Live, we'll start building a web-based MUD (multi-user dungeon) using Guile Scheme and Spritely Goblins!

We've laid the ground work on the most recent Crafter Hours stream, so this stream will be where we really start working on the game logic and try to build a fun game from scratch.

The Absolute Beginner's Guide to Emacs

This video is intended for people who have used other code editors or IDEs before and are curious to try out Emacs! The goal is to teach you everything you need to know to get started with Emacs and use it for basic editing tasks. Once you get comfortable with the basics, check out the other Emacs video series that I've created to learn a whole lot more!

🔴 Today on #SystemCrafters Live, we'll experiment with Spritely Goblins, a Guile Scheme library that provides a distributed programming model for writing secure, asynchronous code that can be called either locally or across a network.

Let's try it out to see if it might be a good fit for the Spring Lisp Game Jam next week!
