The only way to be successful in capitalism is through exploitation. It is a system that rewards ruthlessness.

In order to succeed as a politician, you have to be charismatic liar. It favors people who do not even notice they are being manipulative.

These systems amplify the worst traits of humanity.

Discussing individuals is insufficient. We have to change the system.

"One worker said, ‘I never heard of this thing called sabotage before Mr. Boyd spoke about it on the platform. I know once in a while when I want a half-day off and they won’t give it to me I slip the belt off the machine so it won’t run and I get my half-day. I don’t know whether you call that sabotage, but that’s what I do.’"

Sabotage

Most refineries and oil companies worldwide have purchased oil either through options or by receiving and stocking locally for months, which means their actual cost will not be affected for months after the war with #Iran started. And they have had plenty of warning to take advantage of oil close to its lowest cost in nearly 2 decades.

But a free economy means they are free to make tons of profits, unbothered. Your side of freedom is the losing part of the equation, always, right?

So for whom is the economy free? For those monopolizing labor and causing artifical shortages (strike) ? Of for those who use all means for labor to stay unorganized and in surplus?

"Within a year the DIWU had a small loyal hard core and was known by virtually all the 5,000 or so couriers in London. We like to think that the bosses thought twice before introducing changes to pay or conditions for fear of retaliation by the Union."

Fighting for Ourselves

Oh also, before bedtime, I just updated my banner to show the union/org I’m a member of: @nsf_iaa

Nothing dramatic, no rebrand, no big announcement, just me quietly doing the extremely normal thing of putting my anarcho-syndicalist union on my profile like the very normal internet person that I am.

You know, the usual routine: unions, worker self-organization, syndicalism, and the extremely controversial idea that maybe workers should run their own workplaces instead of a handful of CEOs doing it for them.

Anyway, that’s the banner update. Riveting content, I know.

I oppose party politics not only out of mere principle, but because the system is inherently oppressive, serving the bourgeoisie rather than the working class. The same goes for NATO, militarism, and the police, I am fundamentally against them because they exist to enforce hierarchies and protect the bourgeoisie's capital. If you think otherwise, you’re just another illusion of that hierarchy I strive to resist.
