„Todeszeitpunkt“: 23:05 Uhr 🙈
@janw At our institute we switched to zfs for /home (including group folders) back in … can't really remember … maybe already 2009?
For us, especially the FS per user and efficient way to do snapshots + send these to remote storage is a big advantage. The pool has 300T size (alloc 152T).
For $reasons the “large” data (#synchrotron and in-house experiments) lives on the data centre's ceph cluster, we use approx 10× there.
Managed by experts, yes; but for own-hosted ZFS we have a good feeling.
UPDATE: The "World of Biochemistry" Synchrotron set is now available! 🧬⚛️
This massive set includes everything you need to build your own particle accelerator. But here's the twist - the two scientist minifigures come slightly bent because they didn't follow proper safety protocols! 😅
Perfect for teaching lab safety while having fun. Remember kids: always wear your PPE and follow radiation safety guidelines, or you might end up like our twisted Lego scientists!

Damien Fleming (former men's cricket team bowler) selling the Australian Synchrotron is the thing you didn't know you needed to see today.

You can watch the full compilation of Damien's 'ads' on the Working Dog YouTube channel! #TGYH".
