I used up the second half of my homemade Ras-el-hanout paste with a slightly different roasted vegetable mix and it somehow seemed spicier this way. In addition I made pork chops and potato dumplings. Normally I buy the dry boil-in-the-bag ones but this time I tried the type where you buy the ready made dough and I quite liked them, they are juicier. Our first proper dinner in our new apartment. My husband prepared an all in one pork roast with potatoes, carrots and parsnips. It felt like a very homely British meal and was very enjoyable. I have to get to grips with the different table surface and completely changed artificial light. I thought the old dark table surface worked slightly better for the photos than the new wooden one but the new lighting is actually much better and I like the resulting colours.
