Sooooo.... The water table in the upper #BlueMountains is compromised with #pfas , and there's a distinct possibility they're locked into the sediments around the water table from historical firefighting activities.

Oh, and some samples aren't returning 50x safe levels. They're returning 200x. Right there in today's #SydneyMorningHerald

The Medlow dam system was only isolated from the main Blue Mtns drinking water system after the original story leaked back in August as Water NSW hadn't bothered to do any routine water quality testing for PFAS because it didn't know of any hotspots (because it wasn't doing any frikkin testing.... Circular logic is circular).

Regardless of potable water quality, people other than humans rely on this water for their survival. Isolating ourselves from the problem isn't solving it, it's just sticking our head in the sand.
