@HI_Greens @bodhipaksa Well, three years? Not much has changed except a somewhat larger pro-indy majority, and the SNP kicked us out of government. And #Labour at Westminster.

But you were suggesting that #Swinney has been strategising about indy since he was 15. Not sure that the last couple of years could have magically presented a solution.

Not wanting to put a damper on things, but I don't see the strategy, except a rerun of Catalonia or straightforward UDI.

@drgeraint and how is that going to help? The #SNP won just NINE seats under #Swinney's leadership at the last #Westminster election; it will very likely lose two of those this summer in by-elections; and unless he plays an absolute blinder he'll lose a couple more at the 2029 election, to #ReformUKLtd.

How's he going to achieve anything with five MPs? They're lost in the noise.

@drgeraint this is true. But they won't get an #IndyRef2 that way. The reason I think the SNP *should* bring #ScottishLabour into government is that by throwing a few plums to them in terms of ministerial jobs they could get serious pressure applied to #Westminster to get the referendum agreed.

Mind you, I suspect #Swinney doesn't really want another indyref anyway, and that that is what was behind the stupid 'only SNP votes count' nonsense.

@petealexharris I don't think the @ScottishGreens will go into coalition with the #SNP unless the #SNP make a very clear commitment to stick to their #ClimateChange targets -- indeed, I would be very disappointed in them if they did -- and I do not think #Swinney's SNP are prepared to make that commitment.

So I don't think a deal with the Greens is likely to be possible.

(Obviously, I personally would prefer an SNP/Green coalition).
