Swedish fintech startup Brite Payments has secured $60 million in venture capital funding to support its expansion across Europe. Brite Payments operates in the account-to-account (A2A) payments sector, which uses open banking technology to facilitate direct bank account transfers for consumers, eliminating intermediaries and offering cost and time advantages. Founded in 2019 by a former Klarna employee, the company operates in 25 countries leveraging the EU's PSD2 open banking regulation. Brite intends to use the funds to enhance its product offerings, extend its geographic reach, and hire country-specific go-to-market teams in Europe.
