If the US really does send ground troops into #Iran, dedicating all that logistics capacity, ammo, and supporting staff to a campaign with no end in sight, for #Europe this means only one thing: #Russia will seize the moment and attack #NATO.

A ground war in Iran would be somewhat comparable to the Iraq campaign of 2003. We're talking hundreds of thousands of soldiers involved in the initial phase. All European and Middle East logistics capacity of the US military would be solely dedicated to this into the unforeseeable future.

An invasion of the #Suwalki gap by Russians during such an operation? I bet #Putin is smirking at the thought, much amused.

Wollte immer schonmal wissen, wie‘s in der soganannten „#Suwałki-Lücke“ so aussieht. Und ob die Leute Angst haben auf dem schmalen Streifen, der genau zwischen Belarus und der russischen Exklave Kaliningrad liegt. The Wigry Narrow Gauge Railway, Poland

The railway is located in the Podlasie, in the village of Płociczno-Tartak (Suwałki commune). Its route leads through the Wigry National Park and the Augustów Forest, to the village of Krusznik. There are viewing stops in interesting places along the route. The railway stops at the Binduga and Bartny Dół stations and on the way back at the Powały station. Passengers have 5 to 15 minutes to go to the viewing points from which there is a panorama of Lake Wigry. The length of the route in one direction is 9 km, and the total time of the trip is 2.5 hours. On the premises of the railway in Płociczno there is an inn and an amusement park. It is possible to order a train for organized groups all year round.

In 1991, the railway was entered into the register of historical monuments, as a valuable product of technology and as one of the longest operating forest railways in Poland.
