RT by @TomasZdechovsky: 🚴‍♀️ Europe is connected by more than roads and railways — it is also connected by thousands of kilometres of cycling routes.

This map reveals something remarkable: across Europe, cycling infrastructure has become an essential part of modern mobility. From the Netherlands and Denmark to Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and beyond, millions of Europeans can travel, commute and explore their regions on safe and well-marked cycling networks.

Investing in cycling is not just about leisure. It means healthier citizens, cleaner air, less congestion, stronger local tourism and more sustainable transport systems. Every kilometre of a cycling path is an investment in quality of life and in Europe’s green future.

The challenge now is to continue closing the gaps, connecting regions across borders and ensuring that cycling becomes a realistic option for people of all ages, whether in cities or rural areas.

Europe grows stronger when we build connections that are sustainable, accessible and good for people’s health.

🚲 Which European country do you think has the best cycling infrastructure?

For #WorldBicycleDay I choose the Nomentana bike lane in Rome.

I ride a short stretch to go to work. 🚲

Since 2014 (when I started always cycling to work), small but constant progress proves that change is possible, albeit with lots of challenges!

The counter marks 74 tons of CO2 saved: a concrete piece of data that I want to view with optimism in a valley of pessimism and polarization. Many drops make the ocean! 🌍

🚗⚡ New synergy with ODYSSEV Project EU , member of the 2Zero Partnership!

🤝 We are excited to initiate collaboration with the ODYSSEV Project EU (Optimised DYnamics of high voltage powertrains: developing Sustainable Systems for Electric Vehicles), a new Horizon Europe & 2Zero project advancing the next generation of high-voltage EV powertrains.

Launched in January 2026 and coordinated by Fundación CIRCE - Centro Tecnológico (Centro de Investigación de Recursos y Consumos Energéticos), ODYSSEV brings together 14 partners from 8 countries with a total budget of €6 million.

ODYSSEV aims to develop the next-generation of high-voltage powertrains operating at 1200 V and above, supported by advancements in the battery, motor, and thermal management.

👏 Discussions have already started for planning joint dissemination activities, conference participation, and collaboration within the 2Zero Partnership ecosystem.

This is another important step towards achieving Europe’s zero-emission mobility ambitions 🌱

A Guardian opinion piece argues cities from Barcelona to Paris show how women leaders have advanced safer, greener, more inclusive public spaces by prioritizing care, mobility and access over car-dominated planning.

From Barcelona to Paris, cities thrive with women in charge. It’s all about sharing public space

Female mayors have had notable successes in making transport in urban areas benefit everyone, write Melissa and Chris Bruntlett, co-authors of Women Changing Cities

The new video from Tom Babin(shifter)discusses about the places where cyclist're allowed to yield instead of stopping under "stop signs"
It's a relevant step as yielding is safer when cycling than stopping (if not needed) as you already have high visibility (in contrast to when driving cars) and stopping completely reduces your acceleration (at the same time than spilling your energy for no reason)."Stop signs" were designed for cars&trucks mobility

And finally they suggest five structural reforms.

To ensure long-term impact, governments should:

- Expand bike-leasing schemes through fiscal incentives
- Allocate at least 10% of transport budgets to active mobility
- Build continuous, high-quality cycling networks across all levels
- Develop comprehensive bike-to-school programmes
- Strengthen institutional capacity for active mobility planning
