Asthma is one of the most common chronic diseases affecting children and adults across the world — impacting over 262 million people and claiming more than 455,000 lives annually.

Access to inhaled treatments, such as corticosteroids, remains a critical challenge in many low- and middle-income countries, contributing to preventable deaths and long-term disability. This year’s theme calls on global health systems, policymakers, and communities to prioritize equitable access to life-saving asthma medications.
