Chinese scientists have developed a "charge reservoir" material that mimics natural photosynthesis, capturing solar energy to convert \text{CO}_2 and water into vital fuel building blocks.
This new system produces carbon monoxide at rates 100x higher than previous methods. Crucially, it uses only water as an electron source, eliminating the need for harsh chemical additives. Since carbon monoxide is a key precursor for synthetic gasoline and jet fuel, this technology could integrate directly into our existing energy infrastructure.
While still in the early stages, the potential for true carbon recycling—pulling co2 from the atmosphere and converting it back into usable fuel using nothing but the sun—is a massive step toward sustainable energy.

Gatwick Airport Expansion: Potential Impact on UK Climate Targets

The planned expansion of Gatwick Airport, including the construction of a second runway, could lead to an additional 100,000 flights annually. This increase, along with potential expansions at Heathrow and Luton airports, poses challenges for the UK’s goal to become net zero by 2050. To meet these c... [More info]
