How can fresh #water be obtained from #seawater without conventional #desalination? Professor Sebastian Seiffert and his team at #MainzUniversity have developed a promising approach: HydroDeSal uses a hydrogel that reacts to changes in temperature. It draws water from the sea when its cooler and releases drinking water when temperatures rise. The application is now to be made ready for the market.
