The Mangalica pig is an interesting breed from Hungary that was developed in the 1830’s by crossing pigs from Serbia and Romania. It is the only extant pig breed with a curly coat, but it almost went the way of the now extinct Lincolnshire curly coat when the population hit an all-time low of 200 animals in 1991.
