Inspired by bacteria: Synthetic mini-motor with impressive power developed.

Researchers at TUM have developed an artificial motor on a supramolecular level that can generate impressive force using chemical fuel.

🎁HBT Jay S. Siegel who turns 65 today. At Princeton Univ. he developed a keen interest in #stereochemistry manifested in the co-authorship of the legendary JACS paper “La Coupe du Roi and its Relevance to Stereochemistry” (DOI: 10.1021/ja00344a003). Today he is Senior Advisor at the Univ. of Hong Kong. Aside from his stereochemistry expertise Jay is known for his #corannulene chemistry and for his contributions to #supramolecular science.
