Jim Shooter has passed away. It's hard to overstate how important he was to making Marvel Comics into the Marvel Comics of today - though you will doubtless find lots of people trying over the next few days - but I will chime in as perhaps the only person here who battled Jim Shooter as an NPC in an RPG.

It was the mid-late 80's, and the game was Villains & Vigilantes.
