The NFL schedule release is like Christmas in May for football fans—except instead of presents, we get a fresh batch of overreactions, conspiracy theories, and way too much excitement over when our team plays the Jaguars. But hey, we’re not complaining. The 2025 NFL schedule is about to drop, and with it comes a whole new wave of must-see games, revenge narratives, and potential Super Bowl previews. So, while we wait for the official dates (and the inevitable meltdowns from fans who think a Week 4 bye is a "schedule loss"), let’s break down the most anticipated matchups of the 2025 season. 1. Patrick Mahomes vs. Josh Allen (Again… Because the NFL Loves Drama) Potential Matchup: Chiefs vs. Bills At this point, the NFL might as well just pencil in Chiefs vs. Bills as a prime-time game every year. Mahomes vs. Allen has become the league’s new Manning vs. Brady—except with more Hail Marys and way more memes. Will this finally be the year Buffalo gets over the hump Or will Mahomes add another soul-crushing playoff dagger to his collection Either way, this game is guaranteed to be an instant classic (and probably decided by a last-second field goal because, well, Buffalo things). 2. The Caleb Williams Show Comes to Lambeau Potential Matchup: Bears vs. Packers Rookie QB hype meets historic rivalry. Caleb Williams, the Bears’ shiny new franchise hope, will get his first taste of the NFL’s oldest feud—and Packers fans will be waiting. If Chicago’s front office did their job (big if), Williams could turn this into the next great QB duel with Jordan Love. If not Well… at least Bears fans are used to disappointment. 3. The Harbaugh Bowl: Jim vs. John Potential Matchup: Chargers vs. Ravens The Harbaugh brothers coaching against each other is always must-watch TV, but now there’s an extra layer: Jim’s Chargers are rebuilding, while John’s Ravens are perennial contenders. Will Jim’s aggressive style catch his brother off guard Or will Lamar Jackson do Lamar Jackson things and turn this into a highlight reel Either way, expect at least one meme-worthy sideline meltdown. 4. Joe Burrow’s Revenge Tour Potential Matchup: Bengals vs. Chiefs Joe Burrow vs. Patrick Mahomes is becoming one of the NFL’s best QB rivalries, and after another playoff heartbreak in 2024, Burrow will be looking for payback. The real question: Will Ja’Marr Chase roast the Chiefs’ secondary again, or will Chris Jones remind everyone why he’s the most feared pass rusher in football 5. The Return of Aaron Rodgers (For Real This Time… Maybe) Potential Matchup: Jets vs. Packers Assuming Rodgers doesn’t retire to do another darkness retreat, his return to Lambeau Field will be must-watch TV. The Packers’ new era (Jordan Love & Co.) vs. the guy who held the keys for 15 years Bonus drama: If the Jets are actually good this time, this could be a playoff preview. If not Well, at least we’ll get some great Rodgers post-game pressers.
Look over there, son! It's a wild photographer!
Strong Again
From Toronto Wildlife Centre [https://www.facebook.com/100064541810518/posts/pfbid02135Yjo97dBZYfqzagTxSN9TPLcpb9agp2hFVi4eRd2DLcN6ViT5hBba99aSwbUDPl/] > Senior Wildlife Rehabilitator Myriam peered into the enclosure, excited to see the great horned owl perching confidently! Just five days ago, the injured bird was so weak he couldn’t stand on his own, lying on his chest with his little legs outstretched behind him. Kind Phobe sought help after noticing him in her garden, hopping around and unable to take off. > >Once admitted to Toronto Wildlife Centre, the Veterinary Team discovered the owl could barely take a few steps before collapsing. He had suffered head and trauma, along with painful eye injuries - likely the result of flying into a window. Veterinarian Dr. Alexis DeMong gave him medication and fluids, and since he couldn’t eat on his own, the Rehabilitation Team also began a hand-feeding plan. > >Thanks to the incredible care he received, he began to recover. First he ate on his own, then he stood all by himself, then he started walking without falling. Finally, after just three weeks, he was flying again! > >The wild animal is now with our friends at @TheOwlFoundation, where he’s receiving continued care until he’s ready for a new start to his wild life!
Imposing Long Ear
From Thy Pygmy Owl Tour [https://www.facebook.com/groups/741298672623286/permalink/9651919338227797/] > Long-eared owl - Northern California Usually looking cuddly, the LEO is usually a more friendly owl, being one of just a handful of owls that are somewhat social, but here it is striking quite the dramatic and powerful pose.
Burrowing Owl Stands Its Ground
From Ray Yeager [https://www.facebook.com/100047637081184/posts/pfbid02qPbQHqTLUVp2sxtQGCUwqUiJcseCC3xtM9Qw2M5r8f7kV5kqG3HaMgEoCmmn74yml/] > Blue Jay vs Burrowing Owl … another from the series. The attacks were continuous for several minutes. The Owl did not move from the tree.
And Down Will Come Baby... Feathers and All
From Dan Oh [https://www.facebook.com/groups/413227880972276/permalink/987244990237226/] > Great Horned Owlet Falling: I had a dinner engagement with my wife and my daughter and I had to leave the site before “action time”. > >Well, I folded my tripod, hung my camera on side, and was walking away. Then I see from the left corner of my eyes a GHO Owlet tumbling down, falling from a tree … I have a very vivid memory. > >All the on-lookers gasped in unison. Well, story goes some how the owlet after doing unwanted summersault hitting branches landed on the bottom most branch safe and sound. > >I have seen such in 2 other locations in previous years. They all looked fine. Falling is just a process of some owlets. Some land on the ground and some how they use Beak-Wing-talon claws to climb back up. > >Best thing is to leave them alone … if you are a dog walker then put the leash on them if the rule of the trail says.
