I installed #SuperTuxCart on my kids' computer (15yo).

a) it runs smoothly!
b) the keyb is a rubber dome + contact sheets type, and it suffers from a very low (1?) key rollover, so they can't Nitro AND turn left.

I will probably have to sit down and find an ASWD alternative with the other 4/5 buttons that works.

I'm still alert, and it's past granny's bedtime, so I'm playing #SuperTuxCart till my eyes are too sore to go on.

All these years after #Doom, I'm amazed by how people appear to be able to play immersive games for such long periods.

Has the state of the art advanced to the point where there's a solution to one's eyes constantly searching for a focal point beyond the flat screen in front of you? Or are people just pushing through the pain as we did in the old days?

Most of the time I'm fine. Today I'm furiously angry, bitter, and resentful. I don't like being like this.

SuperTuxKart 0.10 RC1 Released With Working LAN/Internet Multiplayer

If you are looking for some kid-friendly Linux gaming this weekend, SuperTuxKart 0.10 has reached release candidate maturity with its LAN/Internet multiplayer support. There have also been track upgrades and other in-game enhancements. The old mansion track has been replaced with the new upgraded Ravenbridge Mansion track.
