Teheran sta valutando la possibilità di arricchire l'uranio fino al 90% qualora gli Stati Uniti riprendessero gli attacchi contro l'Iran. Lo ha affermato Ebrahim Rezaei, portavoce della commissione per la politica estera e la sicurezza nazionale del Parlamento iraniano. La proposta sarà esaminata venerdì dal Parlamento di Teheran, ha aggiunto Rezaei.
Intanto l'Iran ha giustiziato un uomo condannato per ribellione armata, ha annunciato la magistratura, nell'ultima di una serie di impiccagioni avvenute dall'inizio della guerra con Israele e gli Stati Uniti. "La condanna a morte per Abdoljalil Shahbakhsh, figlio di Jalal, membro addestrato del gruppo terroristico Ansar al-Furqan, è stata eseguita", si legge sul sito web della magistratura Mizan Online. Era stato accusato di ribellione "per attacchi armati contro le stazioni di polizia e per appartenenza al gruppo ribelle Ansar al-Furqan", hanno aggiunto le autorità. Ansar al-Furqan è un gruppo militante sunnita attivo nella provincia sud-orientale iraniana del Sistan-Baluchestan. "The death sentence for Abdoljalil Shahbakhsh, son of Jalal, a trained member of the terrorist group Ansar al-Furqan, was carried out," reads the website of the Mizan Online judicial website. He had been accused of rebellion “for armed attacks against police stations and for membership in the rebel group Ansar al-Furqan,” the authorities added. Ansar al-Furqan is a militant Sunni group active in Iran’s southeast province of Sistan-Baluchestan. According to the judiciary, Shahbakhsh carried out his attacks during the protests that shook Iran in 2022 and 2023 following the death in custody of Mahsa Amini, a young Kurdish Iranian woman. His sentence was confirmed by the Supreme Court, the authorities added. According to human rights organizations, Iran is the second country in the world for the number of death sentences, after China. The Iran Human Rights organization, based in Norway, says that the Islamic Republic has executed at least 1,500 people last year, one of the highest figures globally.
