Spent longer gettign the FOSS version complete. Would have been FINE for 3 major versions as it was but it wasn't how I wanted.
NOW it's tight, super fast and light weight.
When Dashboards is done I can then flip to the commercial additions (realtime updates, per endpoint realtime config etc)...idea is for launch the FOSS engine is complete and I have AT LEAST 3 'packs' for specific Magento, Wordpress and ASP.NET (generally) which have integrations allowing management of specific site data an dendpoints (and analytics).
So you just fire up stylobot and it'll remove malicious bots instantly and give a rich view (reports etc) of YOUR site data.
£5/month each. To get it going (and let me start tuning on real data - optional, you can enable sending anonymous fingerpritns to improve the system).

#sundaythoughts

I'm distracting myself from my pending zero income period 🤓

Morning Thoughts: I have never used cloud backups as it always felt weird to have things not in physical form. Maybe because I grew up using external drives to back up my computer before the days of the Internet.

But I do kinda understand the appeal of putting everything somewhere and having it even sort for you, use its AI to catagorise, and more. I have a week of photos I need to get from my phone, camera, and friends share drives of various kinda they took of me, and get them downloaded to my computer, sorted into appropriate files, delete the blurry ones, edit the fancy ones (i dont actually do much post processing, I try for Straight Out of Camera, but it still takes time). I also keep a journal so things need written and printed too. It feels like a daunting task.

But at the end of the day, my files are my own. I am not beholden to anyone. No company is scanning my face who has a name to go with it, constantly. I have beautiful scrapbooks full of stories that if even computers were to die tomorrow, I have lasting memories which are fun to look back on.

Nothing is lost to the mess of random data, sorted by an unfeeling unthinking algorithm, owned by a company who would love to sell my soul to the highest bidder.

My thoughts, my memories, remain mine.

The joy of that is priceless.

Using an AI is like teaching someone to drive a car. They're overconfident in their abilities, make a lot of mistakes, ignore instructions, and at the end of the ride you're nauseous and sick. #SundayThoughts

Are you doing a religious thing this Sunday, or spending the day on the internet? (or something else, reply below.)

#Retirement

For me, retirement is about the end of waking to an alarm and feeling tired all day for it, and an end to most arbitrary deadlines. Those are the largest freedoms. - DS

I’m 70, I spent 35 years at a job I tolerated, and I retired expecting to finally be happy – here’s what nobody tells you about the unhappiness that follows you into your older years

Retirement doesn’t erase what you carried for decades—it just removes the distractions that kept you from noticing it. What follows isn’t a lack of freedom, but the realization that happiness was never waiting at the finish line - it needed to be built along the way.

Be where you are.

There is something here for you.

We often move through moments quickly, thinking about what’s next, what’s ahead, what’s missing.

But sometimes what we need isn’t somewhere else.

It’s right here. It's right in front of you.

Waiting to be noticed.
