It was a wet and rainy day but this condition had two advantages, some fog over the sea for the mood and not so many tourist standing around the sights, so the #SunVoyager #sculpture and me, we got some quality time together ;)

Die Skulptur SunVoyager wirkt vom Wasser aus noch markanter – als würde sie tatsächlich auf den Wellen schweben. Im Hintergrund ragen die Hochhäuser von Reykjavik auf, ein Kontrast zwischen Natur, Kunst und städtischer Architektur.

A popular sculpture along the waterfront of Reykjavík is the Sun Voyager by Icelandic sculptor Jón Gunnar Árnason. Made from stainless steel it is clearly influenced by Viking long boats but there's a wonderful organic quality to the legs and three-pronged people you can imagine riding this vessel.

I don't tend to do a lot of processing on my #TravelPhotography other than making sure there's no sensor dirt and ensuring horizons are level, but every now and then the urge will take me to go a bit crazy. From November 2015, and our first trip to #Iceland with the obligatory stop to take pictures of the Sun Voyager #sculpture in #Reykjavik as you do.
