"Baby Let's Play House" is a song written and originally recorded by #ArthurGunter in 1954 on the #ExcelloRecords label, and covered by #ElvisPresley the following year on #SunRecords. A line from the song ("I'd rather see you dead, little girl, than to be with another man") was borrowed by #JohnLennon for his #Beatles song "#RunForYourLife", released on #RubberSoul in 1965.

JOHNNY CASH AND THE TENNESSEE TWO
Blue Train b/w Born To Lose
1962 U.S. 7” single

You know it’s a great day when you find a pristine original Sun ☀️ 45 of your favorite Johnny Cash song.

When I was 13, back when I first started learning to play the guitar, one of my many uncles (my mother was the second youngest of 13 children), who was a huge Johnny Cash fan and a pretty good musician in his own right, taught me to play a few Johnny songs that had the chords that I knew how to play comfortably.

One of those songs was Blue Train, which 35 years later, is still my favorite Johnny Cash song.

The flip side here, “Born To Lose”, is pretty good too.

A stellar find for me.
